Nobel-Prize-winning playwright and poet

Derek Walcott was a poet and playwright. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1992. Originally from St. Lucia, Walcott spent much of his life in New York City. This photograph was taken in his office as a visiting professor at NYU in 2002.
